In the 1990s, our founder was raised in a small city in India — once known as the 'Manchester of the East' for its bustling textile industry. Payal grew up immersed in the world of fabrics.
Her father, who was in the textile business, taught her from a young age to appreciate quality: "Buy the best, to avoid the need of constant replacement." By touch alone, Payal could distinguish between natural and synthetic fabrics, a skill honed by years spent exploring the finest textiles.
These early experiences instilled in her a deep appreciation for exceptional craftsmanship, durability, and the philosophy of investing in fewer, high-quality pieces that outlast fashion trends and encourage mindful consumption.
Cashmere and Alpaca
Fast forward to 2016 — Payal's journey took her to the mountains of Ladakh, then to New Zealand. Two extraordinary fibres discovered across two transformative journeys, each offering unparalleled comfort, breathability, and the ability to adapt to every season.

In 2021, Payal and her husband welcomed their first child in Vancouver — a beautiful boy born in the heart of winter. At just five months old, their son was diagnosed with eczema.
1 in every 5 children under the age of five develops eczema — making it the most prevalent pediatric skin disorder. The family entered an exhausting cycle: itchy rashes, infections, sleepless nights, and endless rounds of antibiotics.
With no sleep sacks made from Cashmere or Alpaca available on the market, Payal decided to stitch her own using her treasured Cashmere and Alpaca scarves as the lining. The results were nothing short of remarkable.
